Elixir of Life in Solo Leveling explained

In Solo Leveling, the System gives Jinwoo a chance to acquire an invaluable item called the Elixir of Life.

The System has been helping Jinwoo level up. One of the ways that it makes Jinwoo stronger is through daily quests, a series of tasks that he must complete every day.

Jinwoo is rewarded for completing these tasks, and some of these rewards come in the form of dangerous dungeons that are intended to make him stronger.

However, there are also rewards that have miraculous qualities. One of these rewards is the Elixir of Life, which is as difficult to win as it is valuable.

Jinwoo’s need for Elixir of Life

The Elixir of Life is a powerful potion that can cure any illness. Endowed with magical properties, it possesses the ability to cure even the most incurable illnesses.

Jinwoo seeks to get the Elixir of Life for his mother, who is suffering from the Eternal Sleep Disease, also known as the Final Rest.

The Final Rest started affecting people when the gates appeared around the world. It is a disease caused by continual exposure to mana.

There is no known cure for the disease; the only recourse is to keep the patient alive through life support.

If Jinwoo manages to win the Elixir of Life, his mother, who is reliant on life support, will be cured by the potion’s magic.

Acquiring the Elixir of Life

With time, as Jinwoo grows stronger, completing the daily quests becomes a piece of cake for him.

One day, when he goes beyond what he is required to do by the System, Jinwoo notices that the numbers stop going up upon reaching double his intended objective.

When that happens, the daily quest changes to the secret quest, and apart from his daily rewards, he gets to choose an additional reward.

Jinwoo chooses a Blessed Random Loot Box and receives a key to an S-Rank dungeon, the Demon’s Castle.

In the Demon King’s Castle, Jinwoo can find the ingredients for the Elixir of Life. Before entering the castle, he has to face a magic beast called Hell’s Gatekeeper Cerberus.

Jinwoo manages to defeat the magic beast, but not without difficulty. As a result, he is rewarded with the formula to make the Elixir of Life as well as the key to the castle door that Cerberus was guarding.

However, to get the three items needed to make the Elixir of Life, Jinwoo will have to enter the castle and fight the magic beasts there.

Recognizing his limitations, Jinwoo decides not to enter the castle for the time being. He plans to return once he is stronger to collect the items.
